about
Gone is probably my favorite song on this album. It was written near the end of 2014 and was definitely one of the songs I put the most work into. Even though most of the lyrics were spontaneous, I've come to decided that it's a song about climate change. "Treat me like I'm gone and maybe I'll sing you this song" Is the idea that people seem to care a lot more when It's already too late. If we treated our planet better maybe it'd "sing us a song" to us in return (give us something positive in return).
lyrics
(verse 1)
Yeah I will try, yeah i will try
before i run, before i hide
Yeah i will try, yeah i will try
after i live, oh after i die
what the fuck, are you stuck
red red red I’m bleeding, dead
i see my mom, walking up the stairs
she doesn't care, well no, she doesn't care
Yeah, treat me like I'm gone and
maybe I’ll sing you this song
if you don’t belong, there’s something wrong
(Chorus 1)
i miss those fucking days
i miss when i used to play
but i know
but i know, I'm not alone tonight
so don't go, don't leave without a fight, yeah
(Verse 2)
my house is on fire, but its okay
it's taking me higher, its taking me all the way
and i know this was a long time ago
but some people just awoke, today
so get away , yeah fuck it, get away
Scream, scream with me
Ill let you survive through my dreams
and I'd sacrifice all i know
only to let, let you go, let you go…
(Chorus 2)
I miss those fucking days
I miss when I used to play
I miss those fucking days x6
I miss when I used to play
I miss those fucking days
I’m not alone tonight
So don’t go, don’t leave without a fight
I said oh eh oh whatcha running out
oh eh oh wheres your money now
oh eh oh whatcha running out of
I said oh eh oh whatcha running out
oh eh oh wheres your money now
oh eh oh whatcha running out of my love
(instrumental bit)
(Chorus 3)
I’m not alone tonight
So don’t go, don’t leave without a fight
oh eh oh whatcha running out
oh eh oh wheres your money now
oh eh oh whatcha running out of my love
Don’t leave without love
(Verse 3)
Treat me like I’m gone and maybe I’ll sing you this song
There’s something wrong, we don’t belong
Treat me like I’m gone and maybe I’ll sing you this song
If we don’t belong, there’s something wrong…
There’s something wrong
(Outro)
If there’s something wrong…
If you don’t belong…
If you don’t belong…
If you don’t belong…
If there’s something wrong…
